Property Senior Associate/Special Counsel

About the role:

Work closely with an established and experienced Property & Development team with a range of clients.

Ideally candidates will have experience in:

  • Acquisitions and disposal;
  • Compulsory acquisition of easements and the extinguishment of easements by court order;
  • Drafting covenants, easements, by-laws and strata management statements;
  • Drafting shared facilities agreements, development contracts, by-laws and management statements;
  • Legal titles including community title, staged stratum and strata leasehold developments;
  • Preparing and negotiating complex contracts for sale;
  • Residential, commercial and industrial site acquisition, development and sale;
  • Retail tenancy and strata disputes;
  • Advising on appropriate corporate structures and risk mitigation;
  • Commercial leasing;
  • Due diligence for property acquisition and finance;
  • Project and structured finance;
  • Property joint venture, development agreements, profit sharing and project management agreements with both the private and public sector; and
  • Public-private partnerships.

  
The successful candidate:

Ideal background and skills include:

  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years PAE within property law;
  • Strong technical experience;
  • Excellent drafting skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels and work in a team; and
  • Client relationship focused and committed to establishing a long-term, successful career
